Found this ceramic frog bowl this morning at a garage sale for 3 dollars. I thought of my mom when I saw it. I don’t know what I am going to use it for yet…maybe a fruit bowl? It is about 10″ in diameter and 4″ tall. Any suggestions? The lady said she bought it with a lucky bamboo plant in it Sent on the Sprint® Now Network from my BlackBerry®

My $17.28 Harris Teeter trip

Usually for coupon events I get to the store too late and many of the “free and cheap” deals are sold out.  This time, thanks to Angel giving me the heads up, I knew HT was going to double coupons up to $1.98. So, I decided to go there and be one of the first people to check out right after midnight.  I went to Harris Teeter at 11:30 last night ready to take advantage of some deals.  I was all prepared and knew exactly what I wanted to buy.  After about 45 minutes of shopping the store, I was talking to the night manager and he asked if I was using coupons.  I said yes.  He said that the coupons don’t ring correctly until 7am….the new prices ring up soon after midnight but your coupons will not work yet.  Damn it! I asked the store staff to hold my stuff and everyone there said “no problem” and said they would keep my cart at customer service.  So, I got home at 12:30am empty handed but I went back this morning and my shopping cart was still in the corner by customer service (minus the perishable items)! I quickly grabbed my perishable items and here are the things I bougt.

The original total of all this would have been $75.59 but instead I paid $17.28!

Tuesday happenings

I cleared off my desk this morning! Whew…it was a total mess.  I have been ignoring it for about 2 weeks and stuff sure does pile up quickly.  Anyway, now that my desk is tidy, I can start my online lessons in InDesign.  Oh yeah!  I signed up for the course at a community college and I will do all of my lessons from home.  The class started last week and I need to finish my first two lessons within the next week.  I cleaned my desk so that I can knocked out as much of the first lesson as possible this evening.

Earlier today, I filed my first unemployment claim.  The first week is not counted so, next week when I claim, I should start to receive unemployment benefits.  I set up an appointment today with an employment agency to help me find another career. It’s next Monday…so wish me luck.  Geez, I have a lot on my mind right now, so I think it is time to make a LIST to help me out for the remainder of the day.

Plan for the rest of the day:

  1. Clean house (focus on kitchen and floors)
  2. Take Spa shower (remember adzuki bean facial)
  3. Cook dinner (eggplant chickpea curry)
  4. Do InDesign lessons (while Eban works on freelance work)
  5. Go to Harris Teeter at midnight to take advantage of double coupons Up To $1.98
