We have a house! From now on I will associate Friday the 13th with buying a house. It is so freaking cool that I have a house! I can hardly believe it! After 18 years of renting, I will rent no more. It still feels a bit unreal but I can’t be happier right now.

Tomorrow we need to clean the whole house and paint at least the study. Sunday we need to clean our temporary apartment and pack up our things we have in the apartment. Monday we need to check out of our apartment, have our things from California delivered/unpacked, buy a car and return the rental car. Monday night will be the first night in the our house…Moet & Chandon all the way! I am taking off Tuesday since that will be my first ‘normal’ day in the house. Then I am back at work Wednesday.

I just wanted to take a moment and mark this historic day in my life. Thanks to everyone for their support and love! Hopefully everyone in my family can come and see us in our 1st home. But, not to terribly soon because I need to get some guest room furnitur first….lol.

Love my new house, love my hubby, love my family…..love my life.

Tonight is the eve of Eban and I buying our 1st home. Am feeling so strange right now. I am quite freaked at the thought of so much debt and all the responsibility. I don’t really know what to expect, everything is so new to me. Earlier tonight, we meet our Realtor at the house to go over last minute details and to ensure that the current owner fixed the few things he agreed to fix.

After we meet with the Realtor we went to Lowe’s to go look around. There are a few things we want to do right away in the house. One is to paint the guest room and the study. Thanks to Angel’s Oops paint idea, we got two nice cans of paint and saved shit loads! Although somehow 2 cans of Angel’s Oops paint, some brushes, a can of primer, a scraper, a large plastic bag to protect the floor while painting and some painting tape ended up being $75 spent at my first trip to Lowe’s for something for the house. I will have to watch that in the future….maybe I’ll take my calculator next time to stay on track. The second thing we need to do is pull up a couple of bushes that have died since we first saw the house and replace with some fresh new live ones.

Actually, a super important thing to do this weekend is to go find a good deal on a washer and dryer….think I will go check out Sears…wait maybe Best Buy….shit, where is the best deal on washer and dryers? I have never bought one and I don’t know what to expect.

Damn it, I need to buy a car this weekend too! Okay, I will try not to freak out too much! So much change but it is all good. I am now off of work until Wednesday to get all this done. The movers are coming by Monday to deliver our California things. I am starting to ramble so I should go and enjoy some time with the hubby. I hope I get some sleep tonight but I can’t stop thinking of how all this is going to pan out over the course of the next few days. It all starts tomorrow at 11:00 am when we go to the Lawyer’s office to sign all the house papers.

This weekend is going to be a milestone in my life to say the least!!!

I am about to head out to work and just wanted to say hello. I am in countdown mode right now. I work the next 4 days, then I am off 6 days. Why you ask? Well I am going to close the deal on my house this Friday!!! Yes, Friday the 13th is my house closing date. We figured that would be a great date to close on the house and end the tradition that Friday the 13th is an unlucky day.

Next Monday at this time we are due to have our things delivered into our new house. I am getting so anxious I can hardly contain myself! Anyway, hope you all have a great week!

Just wanted to say happy anniversary to my incredible husband! It was this day 18 years ago we took vows to love and honor one another. Wow, what a ride it has been. Last year we celebrated our anniversary in England. This year we celebrate our anniversary in North Carolina with the anticipation of buying our 1st home and 1st new car in just two weeks. Needless to say, we did not buy each other anything this year because all money is going to the house and the new car. We will probably go to Starbucks for coffee and then maybe somewhere for lunch to celebrate.

I love you Eban. You are such a wonderful man. Looking forward to the coming years.
