Normal weekend

Hello world! It’s a cloudy / rainy Saturday morning and just wanted to pop in and say hello. Eban and I have just come back from town centre. We went to eat breakfast because we didn’t have any breakfast-type food in the flat. I ate egg and chips and Eban ate a ham omelet.

This weekend is probably going to be the last ‘normal’ weekend for me for a while. Next week things are going to start getting busy for us as we have a lot of planning to do. Eban will take care of most things as I will continue to work over the next 3 weeks. We basically need to close all of our business here by the end of October. My start date in the States is going to be November 6th. There are so many things we need to do and so little time. I will try to make it to Louisiana for a few days before I start work, but time is very short. What I may have to do is go visit everyone after I have worked for two months and go down for New Year’s Day holiday.

Anyway, I don’t want to start rambling and end up with the world’s longest post. Just wanted to say hello and let you all know a bit of what is going on in my life.

Last weekend was a great weekend. It was my birthday weekend and we went to Chichester. We spent the day walking around in the lovely sun enjoying some beautiful scenery. Here are a couple of photos from last weekend. This weekend I am staying in Littlehampton. As soon as I finish this post I will get out and go for a walk on the beach.

Happy birthday to me!

Today is my birthday! I have been on this earth for a whopping 37 years! Thanks for bringing me into this wonderful world Mom and Dad! Love you both!

The weather today is going to be dry and warm with patchy clouds. I am happy it is not going to rain. Am thinking I want to go to the movies for my birthday. I haven’t been to the movies in about 2 years since the last Star Wars movie came out. Have narrowed the cities with cinemas down to two that I would want to go to…which is Portsmouth and Chichester. We have been to Portsmouth more recently, so think we will go to Chichester. Also, Chichester is closer and I am not in the mood for a long train ride today.

I can smell breakfast cooking…my darling husband is taking such good care of me today as he does always. Eban woke me up this morning with a fresh hot cup of coffee with Cinnamon. Love you honey!

It’s early…

I have been wide awake since 4:45 just laying there in bed, so decided to get up. I just fixed a small cup of Senseo coffee in my little black cauldron Halloween mug. Eban is sleeping in the living room. Poor thing, he has been sleeping in the living room because he has been sick. Although he is feeling a bit better, his coughing is still very extreme and frequent. I slept nice last night, just wished it could have been for longer. Anyway, I just heard the microwave bell letting me know my little charlotte potatoes are done. Why am I cooking charlotte potatoes at 6:30 in the morning? They are for my salad I will eat for lunch.

Lately I have been making a fantastic salad for lunch and the charlotte potatoes are one of my favorites ingredients in the salad. I include in my salad some dark green (no iceberg lettuce) leafy lettuce mix, a few ripe sweet cherry tomatoes, a few slices of crisp cucumber, a few bite size pieces of charlotte potatoes with skins on and some 100% no-added water roast turkey. I have sometimes added a couple of carrot sticks and maybe a small sprinkling of cheddar. At lunch time, I top it off with some red pepper and balsamic vinegar dressing….yummy.

Don’t know what the weather has been like in your neck of the woods, but it is still summery hot here. This has been a long hot summer. So different than the last couple of summers here. Last year I remember it was much cooler approaching mid-September. Lately the temperature is still in the 70’s, which is not bad but it sure doesn’t feel like Autumn yet.

Just took last sip of coffee….think I’ll go in the kitchen and check my potatoes and fix another cup of coffee. Have a great day my lovely readers!
