Happy Birthday Kellie!
I hope you have a wonderful birthday. I tried calling you however you were at work. But I got to speak to Mrs. Bergeron who I haven’t spoken to in years, which was nice. Anyway, enjoy your day and remember that you can do anything you want today and get away with it since it’s your birthday!!
Am thinking of your beautiful laugh right now and it is putting a huge smile on my face. When I go down to visit, we must take some time for girly talk with tea and lemon.
Love you,
Aunt Faith

I really do think time speeds up when you are not working. My 3 day weekend is drawing to an end and it feels like it just started. It’s been a really nice weekend though. The weather finally cleared up a bit. Yesterday it was sunny most of the day and this morning was absolutely beautiful. Since lunchtime, the weather has been changing a lot. It’s been shifting from blue skies, hardly no wind and warm weather to grey skies, scattered showers, windy and cool weather. Literally, from one minute to the next it goes from good to bad to good again to bad again. It’s funny because there is this group of people in tour buses that were enjoying the sun and then we the first scattered showers came, they went inside their tour buses. The light rain lasted barely 5 minutes and when the sun came out again, they went outside. Then not 5 more minutes into the sun, the grey clouds came and then they went back into the buses. It didn’t even rain that time. Then the sun came back out and is still currently out, but the people are still in the tour buses….guess they are waiting for the next rain.
Am drinking my second pot of green tea with jasmine right now. I cooked a stir fry for lunch today. Also tried a packet of hot & sour soup mix that I bought at a Chinese food store. Have to admit that the soup wasn’t too great. It tasted like it came from a mix (guess I should have expected that). I have been having a serious craving for hot & sour soup the way the Chinese restaurants in America make it. The hot & sour soup at Chinese restaurants here is like a bowl of roux….which is quite yucky to say the least. The stir fry was great. I put fresh onion, yellow bell pepper, garlic, carrot, green chilies and celery in it….it was very colorful and I seasoned it with a watered down dark soy sauce.
Today is a holiday for a lot of people. In the US, it is the observed Memorial Day and here in the UK it is the Spring bank holiday. I have taken a few moments out of my day today and thought of those who have given all for their country. Am feeling a bit reflective today which I guess is kind of fitting. Wonder what everyone is doing…..anyone had a BBQ?

Rain
rain
some more rain
the wind increases
moving grey clouds above
seagulls hovering riding the wind wave
want to be a bird
to ride the wind wave
water pellets smashing against the windows
the wind wave is passing through them
windows are now musical
with the sounds of water drums and wind pipes
happy to be inside, but still want to be a bird

I have been deleting over 1000 spam comments that have hit my site recently! Have been working on this for hours on end this morning and my head is about to explode! They have hit some of my older posts, so probably none of you guys have seen them. I am working on getting my website back to being my website! Have about 300 spam comments left to delete and mark as spam. I have to do each one individually through WordPress and it’s freaking driving me crazzzzzy…
My darling husband installed some anti-spam in my WordPress so hopefully in the future this won’t happen to me again. Hope you all are having a nice weekend. Am about to take a break from working on my website and have an afternoon tini. We are pretty much stuck inside this weekend. The wind is out of control (again) and it is raining cats and dogs!

Take care you all….

My darling husband re-pierced my nose last Monday (the first day of my holiday). I haven’t worn a nose ring since my second year at The Body Shop which was back in 1998. I remember I took out the nose ring because I was going to meet the president of the company as he was visiting my store since I was in the top 5 out of 300 stores. Despite the fact that I had been wearing my nose ring the entire past year in front of my customers, I took it out for my visit with the president. That was the first time I had ever removed my nose ring since I got it pierced in 1991. No one told me to take it out, I just wanted to make a good first impression. That was over 7 years ago and I haven’t put the nose ring back in since….until now.
I have some fond memories of getting my nose pierced…..twice. The first time I got my nose pierced was in a tattoo parlor / alternative shop on Colfax Avenue in Denver, Colorado. Eban had recently gotten a tattoo and I wanted something myself…so I choose a nose ring. Can remember going back to work at Rock On afterwards and immediately my old boss Greg sticking his finger up my nose removing the hideous and ridiculously big gold stud I had stuck in my nose and replacing it with a cool slim silver stud from our store…Rock On. On a side note, I used to worked at Rock On in Buckingham Mall and loved it. It was the second job I had in Denver….the first being at a ‘normal’ lady’s clothing store I can’t remember the name of. I hated it there. I was expected to sell $100 an hour and although typically I was the only one to exceed the goal, as I am not one to shy away from a goal, I did not like the ‘fake-ness’ involved. The place was corporate to the extreme and not in a good way. I left them after only 5 months….which still till today is the shortest job I have ever had. I left them to work at Rock On.
How I got the job at Rock On is another story. I remember I was decked out in my purple suit I had bought at the lady’s clothing store I was quitting from and was walking around the mall looking for a store that looked interesting to me that was hiring. I saw a small store called Rock On that was hiring ….. I walked in and they were playing really loud music and the place seemed fun and they appeared family owned, which appealed to me after my recent experience with the lady’s clothing store. I asked for an application and quickly returned it the next day. They called me ……. a little after midnight a few nights later to offer me the job. Yes, you read right, I was awoken in the middle of the night with a job offer. They were kind of like vampires I guess, 12:30 am seemed normal to them to call and offer a stranger a job….I took it the job offer……and still to this day, that job was the most fun job I have ever had…..it never felt like I was working, which was great!
Anyway, after that first nose piercing, I got a second one. My wonderful baby sister came to stay with us on an extended visit. I persuaded her to get a nose ring as well. It all happened in the same tattoo parlor / alternative shop on Colfax Avenue in Denver. After she got her nose pierced for the first time, I got mine done and then Eban eventually got his done (post-Air Force)! It was really cool. We of course had to remove the same hideously big gold stud and replace with a small silver one….each and every time.
Guess I just wanted to say that I have been enjoying wearing my nose ring again…it has been a long time. I do love my nose piercing and always will. Right now, I am wearing a very small pink sterling silver stud…..it so small, it is like a flake of pink glitter on my nose. I will probably take it out next Monday when I go back to work, but you can damn well bet that it won’t be another 7 years till I wear it again.
I remember my Mom even wanting to get a nose ring…..do you still want to Mama? They are really pretty and I think you would look great with one! Angel, do you still wear yours…you probably have worn your extra-small silver stud the most consistently over the year. Eban still wears his occasionally.
