Well I have my 2 front teeth already (thank goodness). All I want now is just a couple more things….

* The Whole Ten Yards DVD so that I can have both martini movies to watch as I please
* A new sofa so that I can sit down to watch The Whole Ten Yards on a brand new clean and comfortable sofa and have Eban’s arms around me the whole time.

Hey…….that was kind of fun writing down what I want for Christmas. It kind of reminded me of being a kid and all the hints I used to lay on my Mom and Dad. I can remember doing some really lame attempts at hinting around with them. I also remember flipping through the Sears catalogue and circling everything I wanted as well. That was always fun.

Anyway, Eban…..my wonderful husband….we have no Sears catalogue, so I have resorted to my web page in this day and age for some help in laying down the hints. You may have noticed that I have only listed 2 things….that way, it still leaves you plenty of room to get me things that are not on my list that you have complete control over and that I have no clue of (pretty clever, eh?).

What do you want for Christmas this year? Come on folks…let’s hear it, who knows, maybe Santa is reading my web page.

Abba rocks! I am listening to my Abba record right now and really enjoying it. Am realising that my favorite Abba song is Knowing Me Knowing You. I do enjoy listening to Abba, guess I always have. I have some very fond memories of listening to my Mom’s Abba record when I was a little girl. I would dance and sing and pretend to be a rock star.

abba

I grew up listening to all kinds of music, but a few acts/records/ 8 tracks that stand out are: Abba, Elvis, Pink Floyd, Kiss, Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Disco Duck and the Chipmunks Christmas. These were the records or 8 track tapes that I would listen to the most when I thought no one else was watching.

I do love music! You see, I used to have a small collection of records from when I was a teenager. I brought them with me when I moved to my first apartment in Colorado. Then they tagged along with me to Germany and then they came with me to Texas….but I finally decided to rid of them when I moved out of Spring and left for Conroe. Each time I have moved (which has been a lot), I have always down-sized. But this particular down-sizing was quite different….it was massive. We literally threw away 2 van loads of stuff….it was hard, but we did it. One of the things to go was my records…..

Well, as I am getting a bit older, I have come to realise that I love records. So about 3 years ago I decided I wanted to start collecting again. But first, I needed a record player. My wonderful husband bought me a really nice record player for my birthday after I came to the conclusion that I wanted to start collecting records again. It is one of my treasured belongings now as it allows me to listen to music the way I used to listen to music when I was a kid….through records.

My absolute favorite record is my signed copy of Danzig I. It was my “first” record after throwing them all away. Eban bought if for me with the record player. But the record I listen to the most is Elton John’s Greatest Hits. It is jammed packed with incredible songs that really move me. Collecting records is a fun hobby of mine…I rarely spend more than $2 for a record….as the thrill is in the hunt. I look for them at garage sales and thrift stores. My favorite kinds are rock from the 60’s and 70’s. Currently, I have about 30 records and I am slowly building up my collection. I hope I never have another crazy idea to get rid of them during one of my moves…..but I don’t think I will……my records are here to stay!

By the way, if you like music and want to hear something different…..CLICK HERE FOR GREAT MUSIC YOU PROBABLY HAVEN’T HEARD YET!!!

Rock On! Faith xoxoxo

Would you like your name to be Ikea, Nike, L’Oreal or ESPN (yes, the sports channel)? These are real names of actual babies that were born. Apparently, parents everywhere are taking a stab at giving their child a creative name so that they can stand out from other people. Which, I think is great, but come on…..Ikea? I would never name my child after a flat-packed furniture store that I have no stakes in. What I am trying to say is… I love unusual names, I just don’t think you should name your child after a well known company or anything that is trademarked (unless you own the trademark). Anyway, for more information check out this link and click here for the full story.

Speaking of names, I just wanted to tell my Mom, Dad and older brothers and sister that I LOVE the name you choose for me when I was born. Also, thank you very much for not naming me K-mart, TG&Y, Gaylords, Adidas, Maybelline or any other company from the era I was born.

I love the fact that my first name is also my Mom’s first name. I also love my middle name Faith which is the name most people know me by. I also love the fact that in my entire life, I have only ever meet one other person named Faith. So, I think my name is a good example of an unusual name that is not the name of some well known trademarked company.

My name does come with a story as do most. My Mom had a very difficult pregnancy with me and spent a lot of time in the hospital. The doctors didn’t want her to have me as it was too risky and unsafe for her. But, thank goodness my Mom was determined to have me. She and the rest of my family had to have a lot of faith that I would make it, hence, my name. I was born a very tiny and premature, but healthy little girl. Thanks so much Mama for sticking with me and not the doctors!

Since I go by my middle name, I feel like I have two first names in many respects. I answer to Juanita as easily as I answer to Faith. It’s very natural to me and I love it. I just have to say that although most people call me Faith, I love it when Eban calls me Juanita. He does this quite often and it always warms my heart. He usually calls me Juanita when he is pointing out something about me that he likes or when he is “fake” mad at me.

Anyway, I’ll say it again….I love my name (both of them)!!!

Went to bed last night at 10:45 and slept like a baby till 4:15. As I was awaking I was having a very pleasant dream. I do not really remember what the dream was about other than Eban and Angel were in it. We were walking around outside by some water and all talking. As I was waking up I was realising that I had been dreaming this dream for hours….maybe even all night. It really was quite a boring dream (no offense Eban and Angel) I suppose in many respects….no action, no fireworks, no drama, no excitement, no tears, no laughing, no nothing really…..just walking and talking.

Back to the beginning of my story, I only slept 5 and 1/2 hours last night. Normally I would be so tired with such little sleep. However, I feel quite refreshed right now. Think this really has a lot to do with my “boring” but very “PLEASANT” dream. Quite often I have horrible dreams at night and wake up feeling like shit. Not today…..I am refreshed, feel unusually calm and I am wide awake right now.

Hope that everyone has a wonderful day today. I am enjoying my coffee right now and soon I will be off to work for a very busy day as I have another deadline tomorrow with a huge project due. Will have to remember my pleasant feeling from this morning as stressful things happen today. Hmmmm…..wonder what I will dream tonight?

Take care you guys! Love you all!!!
